More and more people are starting to use online banking applications like Chime, and in order to improve their services, Chime and all others have introduced their own credit cards, so you might ask yourself – “Can I use a Chime card at an ATM?”.
To answer the question directly first, you can absolutely use your chime card at ATMs. Chime has established a lot of partnerships with various wholesale and retail shops (CVS, Walmart, Target, or Whole Foods, for example) and installed its ATMs at these locations. As of today, there are over 60,000 Chime ATMs across the country.

Using a Chime Card at One of Their ATMs Is No Different Than Using Your Regular Credit Card at Your Bank ATM
Chime is truly a unique online financial service. The banking services they provide are almost the same as the ones you get at your local bank, and Chime is even sometimes mistaken for a national bank. One of the main advantages of this company is that it has developed a huge ATM network across the country and introduced its own unique Chime credit card.
They have reached an agreement with many famous US companies like the ones stated above to install their ATMs at their locations, and it seems to be an ingenious idea. After all, you are certainly going to pay more visits to your local Walmart than your bank, and Chime has now given you the opportunity to withdraw money from your account using your card at that Walmart. Taking into consideration that you can add money to your account via phone at any time, this option becomes even better. Here is some basic information about using a Chime ATM and credit card:
- When using an official Chime ATM, there are no service fees. However, there is also the option of using an out-of-network ATM, but then you have to pay additional fees (2,50 dollars) each time you use them. Keep in mind that these fees can vary depending on the company, as they have the right to impose their own service fees.
- The maximum limit is 500 dollars per day. When you reach the limit, it doesn’t matter whether you use a Chime or out-of-network ATM – your requests will be immediately denied.
- If you are in a situation where you can’t find an ATM, you can enter a credit union or bank and withdraw money with your Chime card. However, for such a service, the 2,50 dollars fee has to be paid, and you should always ask if there are some additional expenses.
Finally, a Chime ATM functions the same as any usual ATM at your local bank. Hence, Chime seems to slowly become more popular even among the older generations. Although, it is true that some people find the 500 dollars maximum to be too limiting.
You Can Locate a Chime ATM Either via Their Official Website or Application
Unfortunately, not all Walmarts and other stores have Chime ATMs installed at their location. So before going out to get your cash, you need to locate the nearest atm in your vicinity. This is done primarily in two ways, through their mobile application or website.
Application | If you want to locate an ATM with your app, you need to have at least the 3.4 version since older ones do not have this option. Once you enter the main interface, you see at the bottom right corner of the screen the option “ATM map.” Once you press it, the application will immediately redirect you to a map where all the nearest ATMs are pinpointed. |
Website | You can also locate the ATMs via the official Chime website. At the top of the screen, you will see a menu with the “Benefits” option (first from the left). Once you press on it, another menu will appear, and you need to press on the “60,000+ Fee-Free ATMs” option. This will lead you to the website’s locator. You will be asked to enter your email address. The algorithm will immediately pick up your home address associated with your email and give you a map with the nearest ATMs. |
Customer Support | Finally, we have to mention this option as well. If, for some reason, you are unable to use the two methods above, don’t hesitate to call their customer support. They will give you information about the nearest ATM at your location and provide possible solutions if you have trouble using the website or application. |
Unfortunately, You Can’t Use Chime ATMs for Deposits
For some reason, Chime does not allow loading money onto accounts using their ATMs. If you want to deposit money into your account, Chime has given a lot of options for doing so. The most popular one is simply using your mobile application (there are a few different methods available via the app – direct deposit, fund transfer, and mobile check deposit,) but you can also visit one of the stores associated with Chime and make a deposit at their register.
Chime Has Brought a New Level of Convenience When It Comes to Banking Services
Chime was founded in 2012. Since then, it has become the leading financial technology company in the USA. One of the reasons why is certainly the decision to make partnerships with almost all popular US stores. Nowadays, people who use a Chime card don’t have to worry at all whether they have enough money in their wallets before entering a supermarket, and it seems that each year, their ATM network is slowly expanding. And finally, one thing is for certain – queues at banks are slowly becoming a thing of the past, and we can thank mobile banking for that.
